About

My name is Maile and I'm a mother of identical twin boys, a spunky brown eyed girl and a stepson who has a golf swing even Tiger would be proud of. Married to a southern boy, this California born city girl couldn't have married someone more opposite…but I did thankfully, and we live off a country road where the horses run and the crickets singing are our summer soundtrack. Family is first and by the look of my kiddos faces on the daily, I'm pretty sure that decision is paying off. Motherhood is not for the faint of heart and by all means, I'm no expert, but I'd like to believe I'm doing something right. I can often be too critical on myself when it comes to motherhood, (aren't we all?), but I'm working on it. I also sing and write songs when I'm not changing diapers and that gives me butterflies. I also have a couple gold records and opened for NYSNC ions ago when I was in a girl band, but I'm only writing that because if I don't, my Mom will kill me.

I'm a lover of all things motherhood, Italian made leather goods, good denim and the perfect white paint color. Motherhood IS a lifestyle. I created 'Mother is a Verb' in an effort to embrace the lifestyle of motherhood and realizing all possibilities are endless ESPECIALLY as a Mother. It has been my greatest teacher and pushed the envelope forcing me to be stronger than I ever knew I was. There is no greater sacrifice. Even before I knew that and even shied away from it, it was slowly becoming the lifestyle I always wanted.

I've got a lot on my plate, (especially being a twin mom) and although there are days I think I'm running around aimlessly trying to fulfill everyone's needs, somehow, some way, my quiet time writing in this lovely space has connected me with women and mother's everywhere and THAT is why I'm here. Again, I'm no expert but I've always known what I like, what works and I roll with it and when someone asks me advice I take great pride in feeling like I always have an honest palpable answer. I aim to please, I appreciate a well made Gimlet at the end of my day and I love my family with a ferocious passion. Discovering a fire inside me to write the lessons I've learned and consequently end up helping others has become the dream and the purpose. If I can possibly improve the lives of others one honest post at a time, then I'm gonna.  I'm so thankful you are here, and I look forward to learning from you, sharing with you and changing the world, one mother at a time.
xx Maile
