GIRL SQUAD. HERE'S WHY

GIRL SQUAD. HERE'S WHY

Sometimes I'm dumbfounded as to how and why there was ever GIRL drama during adolescence. Probably because the obvious…there's always girl drama. Yes. True. But as I evolve as a woman on the daily, I can't tell you how important the girl squad is. And as a mother, the mom squad, is equally important. (More on that coming up soon.) So here's the thing. We make friends, we tell each other our stories, blah blah blah. Actually, it's WAY bigger than that. We can't expect EVERYTHING from our partners. Or our jobs. Or our families. WE just can't. Enter, the girl squad.

I'm pretty sure, each of you have some kind of group text on your phone with a few of your girlfriends where you send incredible stupid you tubes, or the funniest text with an attached photo, via pinterest or IG or your very own selfie, where it basically sums up your day or your life. Those text messages are your salvation! They make you laugh, make you cry, they rally up the troops to fill up your cup when you're about dead on the floor from having screaming babies all day long and boobs that are sore from breastfeeding and or a husband or boyfriend who is exhausted from HIS work, and your family just so happens to also live 3000 miles away. That's why. The girl squad is a MUST. It's religion. It's sanity. It's what keeps you sane, when you think you're not sane anymore. Make room for this ladies. Prioritize. I don't care if it's called book club, or mama's night out, or the 'girls dinner', or it's pedi's and wine for 1 hour on a a saturday……book it. And Hashtag that shit. Remind yourself that you once were fighting with girls in 6th grade about NOTHING and now you're fighting with your husband about NOTHING and your #girlsquad is there to hear you vent, drink wine with you, and cry with you too. Don't EVER take that for granted. They will be there when you're 60. Choose wisely.
