If you're in the market for some quality time with your babies, and by quality time, I mean hands on, in the sand, on the pool noodles, stare in their faces and watch their joy, from splish splash to splish splash kind of time, then here's a little recap of our vacay and what I recommend. Because we all know beachin' with babes is so easy said no mother ever.
I don’t know about you. But I’m thrilled the school year is starting. It bringsa sort of renewal to the end of the year. A sort of re-start if you will, or re-set. It’s schedules, packed lunches, early bedtimes, drop offs, pick ups, and an organized kind of chaos that puts us all in a bit of order. It's routine. And mandatory, not optional. And although, the early bedtimes, mean perhaps a glorified bath with a glass of wine and a good mud mask for mom, the mandatory part of the equation puts a damper on my heart. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only mother who feels this way.
Pool Parties use to stress me out. Because I always made such a big deal about them. Like I gotta get it perfect. Everything from the food to the flowers. But then one afternoon after cleaning up the house after friends had left, I realized this. If there's a pool and some snacks and alcohol, you're golden. Nobody cares that much. Really. And if they bring their kiddos, they really don't care. They care if you have cocktails.
