I’ve just put all 3 kids to bed and the house is extremely quiet. Perhaps it’s because my husband decided to doze off too and its the rare occasion of just me, a glass of rose and the second episode of ‘Grace and Frankie’ on Netflix. I’m laughing so hard I’m afraid I might wake the family. Then my iPhone alerts me of a memory in my iphotos and boom. I’m a complete wreck.
It's no secret that parenting is a gift. A true gift. But it's also an adventure. Like the wild wild west. Filled with mountains of unseen dangerous terrain and also the most magnificent views you've ever laid eyes on. And every day that you navigate, you learn a new trade. Like survival tactics. And the actual size of your heart's capacity. A friend said to me recently she was thinking of getting pregnant. So I ordered another coffee and we started to talk. And here's what I came up with.
Not gonna lie, it’s hard. You know this. Because I say it a lot. But only because it’s true. And if I’m lying then I’m just doing you all a huge disservice. And I don’t like that. I think that sucks. I’m not here to be perfect. Or right. Or lie. I’m only interested in the truth. Because that’s how I do life. And sometimes the truth isn’t pretty. But sometimes it’s incredible. And glorious. And with twins, it’s a good ole country combo. Yes, I really did just say that. Because twins are well, twins. Yeah my egg split in two and gave me two babies. Yep. God is funny. And cute. But honestly, I have twins and I still win at life and here’s why.
