THE BABIES AREN’T THE ONLY ONES GOING THROUGH THE TERRIBLE TWO’S

It’s no secret. Parenting is hard. Well, so are the terrible two’s. And when you combine that with marriage, you might as well stick a fork in your eye and go to bed, because it feels like death. But it’s not and the good news is despite you thinking when will this horrific phase go away?, it does. P.S. the clock is ticking over here in my household and I’m right here with you. Pass the wine please.

LONG LIVE SUMMER

Me and the babe are confused about the 80 degree autumn Nashville weather and since it’s fall break we thought we’d just dive right back into summer. Ya know, staycation, grill some veggie burgers, corn on the cob and maybe catch some rays while we’re at it.

WHY OUR CHILDHOOD MAKES US CRY

Two words. Julie Andrews. Ok, she may not be the culprit for you, but let me explain. Recently, my living room television has been inundated with nothing but songs and cinematic snaps of “The Sound of Music”. At first I just thought it was a good diversion from "Moana" and “Night at The Museum” because those were my daughter’s previous obsessions, but the other night while cooking garlic chicken, I caught myself watching her watch “The Sound Of Music”. And then I caught myself crying real tears into sautéed garlic. Tears of wonder. Tears of dreams. Tears of my childhood.
