YOUR 5 MINUTE FIX FOR YOUR FACE + YOUR STOCKING STUFFER

YOUR 5 MINUTE FIX FOR YOUR FACE + YOUR STOCKING STUFFER

Today, I'm singing Christmas carols and thinking about what I'm stuffing in my stocking. I'm also 40. And I just started wearing makeup. Like, right before sweater weather, I finally bought my first foundation. And I'm obsessed.

I'm a late bloomer. In everything. In life. Not on purpose, it just happened to be that way. I've never purchased foundation. I've never applied foundation. Aside from being on set for a shoot with a professional makeup artist, I have never dove in to the foundation make up train.

Well, I'm 40, I have 3 babies and a teenage stepson, I run a very tight ship and I need my face to feel pretty. Everyday. Hello foundation.

Now, I don't wear makeup everyday. In fact, I only wear it when I'm out for meetings, writing sessions or dinner dates, but I don't do that everyday, so I only use makeup sporadically. And I found something that makes me feel pretty in under 5 minutes flat.

Momma's, we don't have time. We think we do, but we don't. Even if we have a sitter, after cleaning up the oatmeal, the toys, flushing the toilets, changing the laundry and packing the lunches, it's usually only 8 am and we have 15 minutes to shower, get pretty and get out the door for drop off.

Enter, my new best friend.

This stuff is what dreams are made of. A makeup artist I worked with recently used it on me and told me if I ever needed foundation, this was it.

I bit the bullet, purchased it and played dress up in my closet after I did my makeup. True story. It's weird...when you're not a makeup person, you just don't know what's out there and available but now I'm happy to share right here and now..... this stuff is dope. And it's sticking around. Super light weight and doesn't even look like makeup, you just get an even-ness on your face that us momma's desperately need after no sleep weeks, every week of our lives.

The only other makeup item  I can't live without is my concealer which I've used for years and can't seem to give up. This is a staple must have. And I'm putting a new one in my stocking also. See below.

This stuff has been my go to since I retired my girl band makeup ways. It brightens just enough under your eyes to make you look bright, not tired and refreshed. Also my other best friend.

A little blush, matte lipstick or lip balm, curl those lashes and adios.

I'm low maintenance when it comes to this stuff, but I'm also a late bloomer. Stay tuned for when I get made up for the holidays. I might just step outside my comfort zone.
