PROJECT BEACH BUNGALOW SHADE STORY
Well, we made it to the finish line. This project beach bungalow has been a massive labor of love and despite the complications of covid and setbacks with renovation and furniture delays, we did in fact finish. And we are in love. So here’s a sneak peek.
This beach house is nestled in a tucked back community on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and has the casual cool beach community vibes but also privacy which is exactly what we were looking for. Our family of 6 craved a home away from home and we got it, not to mention a home along the coastline of the most beautiful beaches in Florida that this California girl has ever laid eyes on.
Priorities for us, were a small renovation of new floors, paint, and furniture all around. And for the main floor living, I partnered with Somfy to install automatic roller shades for the perfect amount of privacy and California coastal vibe I was hoping for.
Somfy had beautiful fabrics to choose from and I went with a light airy fabric (The Bali solar shade in Boutique fabric by Estevan) that blended well with the neutral and soft white tones of our living area. They measured quickly and in a couple weeks, they came back and installed our new Somfy shades!
The result is timeless, classic and modern and airy which is exactly what I was hoping for in this space. They even offer remote access through Alexa and an app on your phone for ultra convenience.
With the convenience of the Somfy automatic shades going up and down anytime I want with the press of a button, it’s the perfect product for the privacy we need, especially at night. Although I will admit there’s nothing better than making my coffee in the early morning and sitting down alone and letting in all the beautiful light!
