Well, we made it to the finish line. This project beach bungalow has been a massive labor of love and despite the complications of covid and setbacks with renovation and furniture delays, we did in fact finish. And we are in love.
HOME. It’s a big word. It’s a lot of meaning. From the warmth, to the feel, to the color, to the touch, it’s all important to me. And most importantly, it’s who is in it. Obviously, you guys know my little tribe is my number 1. So here we are. Nestled in our little airbnb just south of Nashville, we are cozy and comfortable and making this house a home, while we slowly build our new home. Key word: slowly.
It is still very much a vivid memory embedded in my mind. Three wonderful years and a few busy months have passed and I can still see every detail. The footprint. The plans. The breaking ground. Usually most days when I drive up my long driveway, it’s the architectural landscape that gives me all the butterflies. Because I can remember day 1. It was a piece of land and a longing in my heart for another baby. And on that fourth day after we moved in 2 years and 2 days later, I gave birth to not only 1 baby, but 2.
